Stewards Academy meets Bake Off!
Stewards Academy celebrated the European Day of Languages with a variety of activities including a ‘Language Detective Trail’ and a ‘Same Word, Different Meaning’ competition, with teachers greeting students in a variety of different languages throughout the day. The week culminated in a Great European Bake Off!
Pupils from all years and staff participated, bringing in a fantastic array of baked goods to share with the school community. The Stewards family enjoyed eating the delicious treats and monetary donations were collected in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
All competitors in the Great European Bake Off will be receiving positive points as part of the academy’s rewards policy and all entries were judged by Helen Ginger, Headteacher.
The winning entries were: Millie and Scarlett from Year 7, Teddy and Lillie from Year 8 and Katie and Izzi from year 9. All winners will be receiving prizes during assemblies this week.
Lucia Rafferty, Subject Leader for MFL, said: “The languages department are all very proud of the fantastic effort made by students. We look forward to the return of the Great European Bake Off in 2019!”
